The Osney Arms Guest House

We found it okay for one night, and the room was spacious enough for us. Everything inside worked smoothly, and breakfast had enough options to find something to eat. The location was convenient too, about a 15-minute walk to most university buildings and main sights. The place could use a proper deep clean. There was a musty smell, fogged-up windows, cobwebs and some mold. Parking was a major hassle: the online listing advertised spaces, but the two visible ones in the backyard were already occupied and it wasn’t clear where guests should go. Later someone said we could park in front of the house, but that meant driving over the curb and onto the sidewalk, which felt strange to us as non-locals. We ended up using a Park and Ride car park for the day instead.

There’s a great breakfast selection here, served buffet-style, and the staff were friendly. Check-in and checkout were easy. The rooms are nice, though they could use a little more dusting, while the bathrooms were clean. It’s easy to walk to the train station, bus lines, many popular sights, pubs, restaurants and museums. I highly recommend this guest house.

The rooms were cosy and clean, and the house seemed well maintained despite looking a bit dingy in the pictures. Biplab, the owner, was extremely friendly and accommodating with our guests. I had friends and family stay at Osney Arms because it’s so close to the station.

Getting into the room was straightforward, with clear, concise instructions that even explained where it was in the building. The guest house is within walking distance of the train station and local amenities. Our room was clean and had everything supplied, including shower gel and air freshener. Breakfast offered a good selection, including alternative milks, and the allergy information was easy to find. I’d stay here again.
