King's Arms Inn

I've become a regular since the pub got its new landlord about a year ago. What a difference: the food is freshly made and portions are a good size. The atmosphere is relaxed and really friendly, with a good beer selection too. Well done!

I was here on a work trip and had a lovely stay. The location is a bit off the beaten track, but it's picturesque. Staff were welcoming and friendly, and my room was clean and modern with an amazing shower. I had dinner too, the special burger with homemade coleslaw and onion rings, and it was delicious. Prices were very reasonable, and breakfast had a great choice and tasted really good. I'd recommend a visit or an overnight stay.

Our four-legged friend was treated just as warmly as we were, which made the evening even better. The Kings Arms in Paul has a welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff, and loads of character. Dinner was excellent, beautifully cooked, full of flavour, and served in generous portions. You can tell the menu gets a lot of care. A charming place to eat after exploring Cornwall, highly recommended if you're nearby.

The room was so small we couldn't fit our suitcases in, and the small double bed had a lumpy mattress that didn't seem promising for a good night's sleep. Apart from the bathroom, everything looked tired. We paid the equivalent of about $215 Australian per night. The woman who greeted us was pleasant and friendly, but after going upstairs and seeing the room, I ended up crying in the car park. This region was meant to be the highlight of our UK trip. My husband asked if a refund was possible and was told it wasn't because we'd booked through Booking.com. We forfeited the money and fortunately found a lovely, spacious room in Penzance with a beautiful water view, for only a few dollars more per night. I can't comment on the food. Have a look before deciding to stay. Buyer beware.
