Wyndham Duchally Country Estate

The freshly cooked breakfast was worth the wait, and you could choose a full Scottish or continental option. The pool was clean and tidy, with a little cafe beside it. We stayed two nights while visiting the area and found this a lovely wee gem. Our lodge was comfortable, set in beautiful surroundings, and there was plenty to do, from the spa and pool to walks and children’s play areas. There’s even an enclosed spot for dog walking. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we really enjoyed our visit. We hope to come back next year with family.

The birds and red squirrels are fun to watch, so bring some bird seed if you can. I come here almost every year, partly because it’s handy for getting out to the many sights, and partly because you can just unplug and have nature right outside. The lodges are lovely and have what you need for a comfortable stay. There’s a gym and swimming pool if you want to use up some energy, plus a restaurant and bar for when cooking doesn’t appeal.

Catriona was so helpful with our rooms, questions and taxi numbers, and even sorted out early check-in. She couldn’t have done more for us. The service was fabulous, with genuinely warm, welcoming people. It’s a gorgeous hotel in a lovely part of Scotland. Highly recommend 🙌

We made the most of the morning after checkout with a swim, sauna and steam room, which was a nice touch. Our one night there was amazing, though it definitely wasn’t long enough. The setting was stunning, our room was brilliant, and everyone on staff was chatty, friendly and happy. The food was incredible and the drinks were sublime. We both loved the venue. The distillery was unfortunately closed, possibly because of storm damage, so we bought two bottles of gin on the way out. We’d also had that gin at the bar, along with other drinks.
