The rooms are compact, but modern and comfortable, and the lobby has a sociable feel that makes it a good place to hang out when you’re not sleeping. It was my first stay at a Moxy and I loved it. The staff were really friendly, and it worked well for me as a solo traveller. They have dinnerware if you want to order food from another restaurant, plus complimentary coffee, tea, and water. There’s also food and drinks available at the bar. Great stay near LHR.

Breakfast is a good deal at £13, with plenty of variety. I appreciated that the coffee and tea are fair trade. The gym is small, but fine for some cardio or stretching. The staff are the real strength here, always cheerful, welcoming, and helpful. Someone has clearly done a great job hiring and keeping such a good team. The rooms are a different story. They get far too warm for me in winter, and there’s no individual temperature control. Opening the window is the only way to cool things down, but it doesn’t open very far and there’s a busy road and the airport nearby. Noise is an issue inside too, with doors banging and little soundproofing between floors, so bring earplugs. The mattress was too soft, although the linen was very good quality. The location is handy, but Heathrow’s policies make it expensive to get here from the airport. An Uber from Terminal 4 was £35. If you’re travelling light, there’s a Transport for London bus stop outside that goes straight to Heathrow Central.

I stay here often, sometimes twice a month, because it’s close to the airport, reasonably priced for short stays, has comfortable beds and quirky decor, and the service is usually pleasant. For longer visits we use other Heathrow Marriott hotels. I often check in through the Bonvoy app and message the hotel if I’ll arrive late. This time my flight was delayed, and after a full day of work I got in at 1:30am. Even though my reservation showed my Bonvoy status, the first thing I was asked was whether I’d stayed with them before. That was a frustrating way to be greeted. My mobile key didn’t work, and neither did the keycard they gave me. When I asked about opening the other lift, I was told to use my key on the black box. I asked the staff member to try it himself, and he found the keycard was faulty. Once I finally reached the room and unpacked a few basics, the shower filled up and wouldn’t drain. I had to get dressed again and go downstairs to ask for another room. I’m not sure how housekeeping could have missed such a badly blocked drain. The hotel was full, so I was moved from the fifth floor to a room on the first, and had to repack and carry everything down. The manager, humane, didn’t seem very concerned. It was a rough night, and there wasn’t much empathy for a guest dealing with all this at 2am. Marriott and Moxy should train their staff, especially the manager, to handle a situation like this. This was my first bad service experience here, but the response should have been better.

We were able to get straight to Heathrow on the bus stop right outside after checking out, which made leaving easy. The night before our 30/04/26 flight, the reception staff were attentive and friendly, and we got the quiet room at the end of the corridor that I’d asked for. I’d also requested a runway view, but we faced the road instead. It didn’t spoil the stay. The twin room was a good size, the beds were very comfortable, and I fell asleep within minutes. Breakfast had a great range of hot and cold food. We went back to the room afterwards, and both had a shower. The water pressure was strong and the temperature just right for me. My partner and I had a brilliant stay and would consider coming back. I don’t understand why the hotel gets such bad reviews.

I’ve travelled for work for years and stayed in hundreds of places across many countries, but this was one of the worst hospitality experiences I’ve had. The staff came across as rude, dismissive, and unwelcoming, with no basic courtesy or professionalism. It felt like guests were a nuisance instead of paying customers. The place itself felt cold and industrial, with an unpleasant, clanky atmosphere and none of the comfort or character I’d expect. For the price, it just isn’t worth it. There are better places nearby with friendlier service, a nicer atmosphere, and better value. I’d tell other travellers to avoid it. Based on my stay, I didn’t get quality, hospitality, or even basic politeness.
