Radisson Blu Hotel Perth

The buffet food was cold and the beef was very fatty, definitely not good. During the conference, the tea and coffee machines in the meeting room made so much noise while boiling that I could hardly hear the speaker. Why not put them out in the corridor?

A great hotel if you're not from this country.

The friendly, small staff made a real effort to help us feel comfortable, and the room was clean. Given the circumstances, they deserve an outstanding rating. Our original hotel had been requisitioned by the government for Ukrainian refugees, and this hotel fitted our bus tour in with only 10 days' notice. They were renovating and had clearly rushed to get rooms ready for our whole group. That haste showed: there were no bedside lamps, for example, and the wash basin wasn't secured. After reading several reviews, I was worried, but found the place lovely. In ordinary circumstances I'd probably give it three stars, but these weren't ordinary circumstances. I'd love to come back in a year or so and see the renovations finished.

Our renovated room was clean, with comfortable beds, a big TV, hair dryer and hospitality tray. There were nice little touches too, like chocolates on the bed. The staff were friendly and helpful. We didn't eat there, but the desserts we saw being taken to another table looked very nice. There's a large garden at the back with a gazebo and several tables. The building is beautiful, and I'd love to return once it's fully restored. I'd been worried after reading reviews, and the public areas nearly put me off going inside to see the room. The hotel was once gorgeous, with its massive Central staircase, chandeliers and high ceilings, but renovations are underway and those areas are currently awful. It's right beside the train station, and the pay-and-display carpark is free for hotel residents.
