Park Inn by Radisson Peterborough

Room 230 was really good, with a separate lounge and a nice bathroom with a large walk-in shower. The restaurant food was underwhelming for the price. Drinks were a bit pricey too, and although there was a Guinness tap at the bar, my order came from a can.

We had our wedding reception here and the staff made the night so special. Lauren and James handled all the planning, and Cj, Simon and James did the food, which everyone loved. Lots of guests took some home. Amanda made the room look amazing, and Adam and the other woman working the bar, whose name I didn’t get, were wonderful too. Everyone was friendly, helpful and attentive to the details. We couldn’t have asked for more, and would book future parties here. I stayed the night before as well. The room was lovely and very clean, with a comfortable bed and a great-sized bathroom. Thanks to everyone at the hotel for making our night perfect.

We were just a five-minute walk from Peterborough cathedral and the museum, and I couldn’t see much else to visit in the city centre. Breakfast was a good buffet with plenty of choice. Dinner for two, with two courses for me, one for my wife and two drinks each, cola for her and beer for me, cost more than my room. The room itself was okay, but the drain smell wasn’t pleasant. A staff member said the hotel had been waiting for the council to deal with it for many months.

The staff were lovely and made me feel welcome. My room was clean, comfortable and more than enough for a training course stay. It faced the main road, but I didn’t hear the traffic. There’s a bar and restaurant on site, with a decent choice of food. Prices are above average compared with other restaurants, but the quality reflects that. It’s not the Ritz, though it’s no Weatherspoons microwave job either. The place is quiet, has decent seating, and works well for a work trip.
