The five-course Italian night was fantastic, starting with antipasti and serving so much delicious food. The homemade soup and authentic baking stood out, especially the focaccia. Porchetta pork belly was incredible, and tiramisu finished things perfectly. Wine-bottle candles, beautifully dressed tables, Italian music, and a lovely Aperol spritz made for a great atmosphere. We ended with limoncello, the perfect finish. We really enjoyed the evening. Thanks, Paul!

Christmas Day dinner at The Queen’s Head was amazing. The food was outstanding throughout, beautifully cooked and full of flavour, exactly what you want from Christmas dinner. The atmosphere was lovely, service was great, and there was no stress, just good food and company. A big thank you to Paul for making our day special.

We come here for Sunday Lunch, and it’s always fabulous. It’s a friendly village pub with a great family feel, dog friendly, and always fun, fun, fun. It’s full of idiots like me!

The meal was appalling, and I’d recommend avoiding this place. My friend and I stopped for lunch, hoping to sit on the 'patio' by the river, but it’s basically in the car park. The river is further away, and food was only served as far as the patio. We went inside and waited, and waited, about 45 minutes for two poached eggs on toast and one smashed avocado on toast with poached eggs. The £10 each price included a cup of coffee, which did arrive. One plate had eggs over two pieces of dry toast from an ordinary sliced brown sandwich loaf, one piece an end crust, the other cut into triangles and propped against the eggs. The avocado version was marginally better, but the eggs were somewhat cold and the sourdough was another cheap sliced option. We complained and were told there was 'training' in the kitchens. I asked for a refund, which they offered, but I wish I’d taken it. Since the avocado toast wasn’t so bad, I accepted a £10 refund. When I got home, I found I’d been charged £7 for my friend’s Coke. I assume we were accidentally charged for two, but who knows?

The Queens Head is so convenient, with friendly and helpful service and fine food. We love coming here for a grand lunch, then taking a walk along the canal. Thank you.
