Premier Inn Petersfield

For more than three years, I’ve kept coming back to Premier Inn Petersfield. The rooms are clean and quiet, and you’d never guess the A3 was so close. The welcome and service at reception have always been friendly, and Uzi pays close attention to how guests are doing.

The staff were friendly, parking was good, and it was handy for the main roads. McDonalds across the way was a bonus for us. We stayed with our 5 month old and brought our own travel cot. There’s no lift and a fair number of stairs, as the booking information clearly said, so keep that in mind if you have lots of luggage. We paid about £70 for two nights, a very low rate, and that affected my rating. The bedroom and bedding were clean, but there was a lot of mould in the bathroom. I told reception, and the woman there said she’d deal with it. By the time we got back that evening, it had clearly been addressed as well as the housekeeper could manage, which I appreciated. Still, I wonder how it had been signed off in the first place. At that price, I felt I got what I paid for, but I wouldn’t have been happy paying more.

The main road nearby had us a little concerned, but the double glazing kept the room quiet. Everything was clean, and the staff were friendly and efficient. It felt like a typical Premier Inn, though the bathroom had only a shower, which we liked. The place next door was very busy when we visited, at dinner and again at breakfast, so I’d book a table if you plan to eat there.

Our rooms had an unpleasant musty smell, but the staff were brilliant. After a long day travelling with an elderly relative, Debs at reception helped us with everything, from parking to extra towels. She was professional and so helpful, and eased our relative’s anxiety about staying in a hotel. We really appreciated it. She deserves a pay rise! The restaurant staff were brilliant the next morning too.
