We especially liked the Crow’s Nest snug. It's cozy and full of character, and the open fire made it a lovely place for an intimate gathering in the colder months. The décor throughout the hotel is stunning, giving it an atmosphere that's both elegant and relaxed. We've held several important events at Hotel du Vin Poole, all arranged so smoothly by Events Manager Sam. Sam's warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail made everything feel special and easy. They coordinated our civil partnership ceremony and dinner, a private drinks reception before a party, and a large family lunch before Christmas. Each felt thoughtfully tailored and beautifully organised, and nothing was too much trouble. The French market table was a particular favourite, generous, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. The food at every event was exceptional. Zac, the barman, also deserves a mention for being funny, personable, and attentive without hovering. Guests regularly said how welcome and well cared for he made them feel. It's a special venue with a wonderful team. We'll definitely return and would recommend it for celebrations and events.

This was my second visit, and Zach was working again. He was so welcoming, professional, and genuinely kind from the start. He made me comfortable and looked after me without rushing, all while managing the bar with ease. His friendly manner and attention to detail really lifted the visit. People like Zach are why I come back. I'll keep returning, and anyone he serves will be in good hands. He's a real credit to the place and deserves the recognition. I don't usually go out of my way to leave reviews, but this time I felt it was deserved. Thank you, Zach!

The restaurant looked beautiful, with spotless surroundings, attentive staff, and tables set just right. The hot buffet was decent enough. My mum and dad recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary there and took over the restaurant. Clare Rockett, the GM, was the real treasure. She looked after us with the patience of a saint and made sure nothing was too much trouble. She was an absolute superstar. Thank you for making the celebration so special.

We were three busy mums with small kids, so a wine tasting and some grown-up conversation with two close friends sounded like just the thing. At Hotel du Vin in Poole, it turned into a lovely evening from beginning to end. The host knew the wines inside out and guided us through them with real enthusiasm and a bit of humour. The selection was superb, taking us across different regions and flavour profiles. The setting felt elegant but warm, and the service was attentive. It was a special, relaxed evening and a lovely reminder that taking some time for ourselves can be restorative. I'd happily recommend it to anyone looking for a refined but easygoing introduction to wine. Thank you!

The hotel was good value in the off season, between Xmas and NYE, and really accommodating for our young family and dog. They gave the dog little gifts, and he loved being allowed almost everywhere, except the bistro, which was fair enough. The rest of the hotel was well appointed and set in a beautiful historic building. I'm still not sure about deluxe rooms with a bathtub in the middle. I've never understood that trend, even coming from a family of award winning architects and interior designers. Maybe it's meant to nod to the old sailors looking for ladies of the night, haha. We can't change it, but I'd highly recommend getting a special at this hotel and using it as a base for the region.
