Blanco's

The vegetables and potatoes were sitting in water, so they were very soft, and the drinks were pricey. There was a good choice of non-alcoholic drinks, though a small bottle of nonzeco cost £5.95, the same as an alcoholic drink. The food itself was okay and good value: with so many people being served, it was still hot and came quickly, and you could fill your plate. There were plenty of staff, quick to clear tables and serve at the bar, and the atmosphere was brilliant. I’d go back for one of their Christmas party dinners, but not for a regular Sunday.

The staff were welcoming and friendly, and the hotel was in a great location for what we needed. It was busy because it was a Six Nations weekend, but we had no reason to complain. We’ll definitely stay again if we’re back in the area and need a night somewhere.

Afternoon tea was great value, and there was more than we expected. The three of us were stuffed. The man at the bar was incredibly busy but still gave great service. What a delightful young man, an extra star for him! 😃

We had a really lovely afternoon and night for the WalesVScotland game, but trying to pay with cash after 10.30pm was a real letdown. We’d paid £25 per person for the full experience, so that response was shocking. Cash is acceptable legal tender, and it was wrong that it wasn’t accepted.
