The staff were lovely, and the bedding and facilities made for a sublime night's sleep. Our deluxe room looked over the garden towards the sea, and it was fantastic. We stayed for three nights. Breakfast was fantastic too, so don't skip it. Thoroughly recommend this hotel!

The staff were friendly and helpful, and we’d definitely come back when visiting the Isle of Skye. The hotel is comfortable and well appointed, with an easy walk into Portree town centre. Breakfast and dinner both had excellent choices, with locally sourced food nicely presented. There’s a pleasant sauna, though it’s closed at present, and a very comfortable room for relaxing.

After all the hiking around Skye, this was a great place to get a good night's sleep. The rooms were tasteful, with a well furnished bathroom, and I loved the sheets. They were an absolute delight to sleep on.

The Marmalade sits on a quiet hill, with town only a short walk away. Storr, the Quiraing, and other outdoor activities are all within 45 mins of the Marmalade. The rooms can be on the expensive side, though they’re pretty spacious, and there’s a full bar, full restaurant, and sauna on the hotel grounds. It was a great place to stay in the highlands.

After staying at the Isle of Eriska and The Balmoral in Edinburgh, this felt like a Youth Hostel. The lounge floor was filthy, the walls and furniture had marks, and there was no turndown service or bell service, offered or available. Reception was on the phone when we arrived and didn’t acknowledge us until the call ended five minutes later. The restaurant was overpriced too. The host said, "Follow me Guys" while leading My elderly Mother, My Wife, and me to a formica top table with paper napkins. When asked what kind of water we wanted, the bottle was just place on the table. I could go on. This is NOT a 4 Star Hotel.
