The rooms were modern, the bathroom clean, and the beds comfortable. The staff were very friendly too. But there were cobwebs in the room corners, old food left in the cupboards, an unvacuumed floor and dusty surfaces. The bathroom door had a big hole, like it had been punched, and the shower only had one setting, extremely hot, with no way to adjust it, just switch it on or off. There were tissues and wrappers tucked behind the bedside tables. We just needed somewhere to sleep for the night, and that's what we got. It's cheap for a reason, and we won't stay again.

I paid £78.04 for a room, not the advertised £52. When I arrived, the doors were shut and I couldn't get in. Both numbers on the door went to the same person, who said no and hung up. I spoke with Mel from custom support, who I'd booked with, and they also told me it was non-refundable before hanging up. I was left on the street with my bags that night and reported it to the bank as fraud. Avoid at all costs. I had to give one star because zero isn't an option.

Please avoid this place because of the health hazard. I'm giving it one star so I can leave a comment. British authorities should check it very carefully. Living in a manhole would be five-star comfort compared with this. It's a latrine, and if you have no other choice, prepare for a nightmare. All the furniture in the room and bathroom is broken and dirty. Seriously, think twice before choosing this place.

Avoid, avoid, avoid, unless you're desperate and okay with germs. My room was in a state: stains on the chair, a dead daddy longlegs in the net curtains, curtains that were too small, a filthy carpet, and a chipped, stained headboard and nightstand. The bath was grimy and the sink dirty. The bed had clean sheets, with a tiny towel and bar of soap set out. I considered leaving but waited for my friend so I wouldn't look like a complaining diva. We left quickly. I was told that because I'd sat in the room while waiting for my friend, he couldn't sell it that night, and they refused a refund. The place stank of weed. The receptionist was dismissive and wouldn't speak to or look at me, even though I had paid and the room was in my name. He only communicated with my male friend. Save your money and get a premier inn. Foul, filthy and rude.

The receptionist was lovely and warm, and provided everything we needed. The hotel feels luxurious, with a vintage style, and it was clean. Amazing service, I'd definitely recommend it!
