The Queen Phillippa

The room was immaculate and had everything I needed. It was a lovely change after my earlier stays around Sheerness on the Isle of Sheppey, where the places I found were generally pretty poor. This hotel is in a lovely village by a creek, with lots of friendly pubs nearby that serve good food.

The staff were friendly, helpful, and full of useful information, and breakfast was what you’d expect for the price. We had a clean, modern, tidy room with nothing wrong with it. Several pubs serving food and entertainment are within a five-minute walk. A great stay.

The staff made us feel at home, and were so polite and friendly. They went out of their way to meet our needs, including making sure our child’s breakfast was safe on both days because of their anaphylactic allergies. The hotel and rooms were very clean, and the beds were super comfortable. This was easily the best hotel we’ve stayed at, and we’d recommend it without hesitation. We’ve already talked about coming back around Christmas and booking a few summer weeks for the ferry trip. Thanks for having us, we look forward to seeing everyone again soon.

We were sorry the hotel no longer serves evening meals, otherwise we’d have eaten there both nights. We did have breakfast on both mornings, with plenty of cereals and cooked options, all delicious and well prepared. The hotel was spotlessly clean, and the whole team was so friendly and attentive that they made our stay wonderful. I travelled with my Mum, who has mobility issues, and a lovely young man even drove her to The Flying Dutchman for our evening meal. What a great find on the Isle of Sheppey, I’d definitely recommend visiting.
