The room was a decent size, with an en-suite and TV, and parking was free. At £55 a night, with no extra charge for the dog, the value is hard to argue with. It seemed popular with contractors too. Still, I'm unsure about staying again. The area around the hotel didn't feel entirely safe, though I can't say exactly why, and there were a few odd characters outside. Then, in the middle of the night, a resident banged on our door and accused us of using power tools. We were asleep in bed, so I've no idea what he was on. Reception didn't seem interested when I called down, which is why I'm taking off a star.

Travelodge with a bit of charisma, and some rooms have up-to-date entertainment on the TV, including Disney+, Netflix and Airplay. The place has that old-fashioned charm, and the staff are both very polite and capable. Thanks especially to Sashi, Kopila, Elly, Parikshya, Sofia, Amrit & Ruby 💎

The food was good, and the staff were friendly. Great hotel.

The staff were very friendly, but I didn't find much else to like. The hotel felt empty, and our room was old and in poor repair. It looked as if nobody had touched the place since the 80s. There were light fixtures coming away from the walls and broken chairs piled in a corner. If a room straight out of a horror novel sounds enjoyable to you, you might like it.

The location is perfect, and for a fair price you get a room that's fine if you're not too fussy. We came to Reading to visit friends and only needed somewhere to sleep and shower. The room was clean and practical enough, but the bathroom ceiling was black with mould. The fan sounded like heavy machinery when I turned it on, and I think someone should take a look. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, though nothing special. A bowl of fresh fruit to take would have been nice. One morning, I also noticed that a member of the staff smelled very strongly of cigarette smoke.
