It was cheap and convenient for where I needed to be, and the staff had cleaned the room as well as they could. The welcome was polite and professional, and the en-suite upgrade was a nice surprise at check-in. My room had fresh bedding and towels, plus a kettle, tea bags, coffee and complimentary bathroom soaps. The place is showing its age, with peeling lino and paint, worn carpets and dated decor. There didn’t seem to be a TV remote, and the split shower head needs replacing. The shower cubicle was tiny. I’d book again if working nearby.

The TV worked, and the shower head was good quality, but the rest of the room badly needs an upgrade. Everything felt outdated and unclean. The bedding was very dirty, the cups and glasses weren’t clean, and the bathroom, especially the shower cubicle, was filthy. The surfaces were sticky, and the tea bags weren’t in pouches and tasted stale. You get what you pay for, I suppose. It’s the cheapest hotel in Reading.

I had to move rooms twice because every room had bed bugs. The rooms and toilet were filthy, with sticky stuff on the doors and walls, and I had an allergic reaction the next day from the bed bugs. This was a disgusting place to stay. I’m never going back. 👎

There’s a restaurant on site with a good choice of food, and parking is free. Plenty of takeaways are nearby too, and the Coop is just a few minutes’ walk away. My room was clean and the bed comfortable, though the decor is dated. That didn’t bother me much given the excellent value. I’d definitely recommend staying here, and I’ve already booked again.

The one real plus is that this is the cheapest hotel in Reading. It’s very basic, with dated furniture and shared toilet and shower facilities. They should improve the cleanliness and replace some of the furniture.
