Holiday Inn Reading West

My family were very happy with the food and service, and dinner was excellent. The sea bass was fresh, delicious and full of flavour. Breakfast had an impressive range of options too. The rooms and bathrooms were spotless, which made our stay comfortable. As an IHG Club member, I felt appreciated, and the staff gave us excellent service and support throughout our stay at Holiday Inn. We had a fantastic experience and look forward to coming back.

Dinner was a frustrating start to our night. The restaurant wasn't busy, but service moved so slowly that my hot fish pie arrived with cold, overcooked broccoli. I skipped asking for it to be reheated because I didn't want another half-hour wait. Checking in hadn't gone smoothly either, as nobody was around when we arrived and there was no way to let anyone know we were waiting. We'd booked a premium plus room for one night. It was spacious, but tired and dated. The robes barely fit me and were no use for my husband, and with no pillow options I slept badly and woke with a stiff neck. Breakfast was okay, though there was no regular breakfast tea and nobody nearby to ask. We chose this place only because our first choice was full. We won't be back.

I've stopped in twice for a few hours while my car was being worked on nearby. Lisa and Leia have been really welcoming, and they've brought me a lovely breakfast and plenty of coffee while I get laptop work done. A nice place to settle in during the day.

We slept really well, which surprised us given how close the hotel is to a road. It was quiet, and the room was clean, roomy and comfortable, with great air conditioning. We also appreciated being able to choose from different kinds of pillows. The staff were warm and welcoming, and we especially enjoyed the buffet breakfast. There was lots to choose from, including a full traditional English breakfast. The hotel felt safe and well cared for. We had a very enjoyable two-night stay and would happily return. Good quality for the price, too.
