Southcrest Manor Hotel BW Signature Collection

The buffet breakfast was a highlight, with a good range of food, hot drinks and juices, and the stay was good overall. Rooms were clean and comfortable, though some basic maintenance and cosmetic attention is needed. The free car park is at the front, so the better rooms are at the back overlooking the patio, back garden and woods. Remember to register your car, or there's a £100 fine.

Housekeeping made the week-long stay for me. The team were attentive and quickly worked around my room availability schedule, and the in-house dining menu was amazing, as the photos show. The shower pressure was low, and the doors still use traditional keys instead of electronic cards, but it's still one of the best hotels I've stayed at recently. I'm giving it five stars.

We booked at the last minute for a concert in Birmingham. The room was nice, clean and did what we needed, and the reception staff were friendly and helpful when we arrived. We didn't try the food or other facilities since we were out until late after checking in. The only real issue was the shower: the pressure was very low, and pressing the buttons the wall stickers said would increase it made no difference. Even at the maximum setting, the water was quite cold. I'd consider booking again if we're in the area.

I came for a treatment and lunch last weekend. Ellie gave me an amazing luxury pedicure, and she and Chloe made me feel very welcome at the spa. The bar staff were wonderful and attentive too. Highly recommend!
