The hotel, which dates back to 1872, is an idyllic country mansion set high on Nutfield ridge. It enjoys breathtaking views of the Sussex and Surrey countryside. The grounds were a real highlight, lovely for a walk and a break from the city. Breakfast with that view was special too. The hotel itself is in a historic castle, and the interiors keep the period details beautifully. Our standard room was roomy and comfortable, though we could hear more than we should have. The spa felt fairly ordinary. The changing room was small, and there was nowhere convenient in the shower area to leave belongings or hang a towel. I didn’t feel comfortable having to step out without one in a busy shared space. Still, I had a very enjoyable stay, and everything else was excellent.

Our three-night stay was fantastic. The Wordsworth Suite and the Austen Room were beautiful, comfortable, spotless, and had stunning views. Everyone we met on staff was kind, helpful, and attentive to what we needed. We’re so grateful to the Nutfield Priory Team for making our winter wedding such a memorable experience. We felt supported throughout, and it was clear the team cared about helping the day run smoothly. We’ll always look back fondly on our time at Nutfield Priory, and we’ll certainly be back.

Lunch had a big menu and was delicious, and Rebecca gave me a full body scrub and massage that I really enjoyed. She was friendly, chatty, and clearly very experienced. My friend and I had booked a spa day with treatments, and the whole day was lovely. Staff were friendly and efficient from start to finish, check-in was seamless, and the tour was great. We’ll definitely book again. Thankyou.

The restaurant is a must. Abdul managed the service brilliantly, and all our waiters were polite and prompt. The food was delicious, especially the clever scallop starter and corn fed chicken. The chocolate tart was sublime. The Wordsworth suite is worth recommending too, with loads of space, a sleigh bed, a wonderful bathroom, and great views. Spa facilities were fantastic, with a lovely pool and three separate gyms. I’d recommend the hotel to UK residents and overseas visitors looking for a quintessential English experience, with a great atmosphere and luxury.

The staff and service were the best part of our three-night stay at Nutfield Priory for the holiday Winter Package. Everything felt smooth, professional, and carefully thought out, probably the best service we’ve had in the UK. Alfie and Abdul especially stood out for their attention to detail. The hotel is beautiful and well maintained, and our room was spotless and comfortable. They’re dog friendly too, and staff cheerfully greeted our pup whenever they saw him. The food was always perfectly prepared and presented. I can’t recommend the Nutfield Priory enough.
