The food was a real highlight, especially the best hummus we’ve ever had, a lovely beetroot tart, and breakfasts cooked to order just as we asked. We had a comfortable double classic room in the hotel and two dog-friendly cabins, which worked well for our group of my sister, daughter, granddaughter and me. High Corner is right in the New Forest, with ponies and donkeys wandering about, and a good walking loop starts there, with another pub halfway around. Victoria, the Assistant Manager, gave us outstanding service, and Laure, our evening waiter, was so charming. A fantastic overnight break, thank you.

We’ve stayed in the area lots of times and this was our best visit yet. The rooms were comfortable and well cared for, and the dog extras were thoughtful: towels, little jackets, balls for walks, and an outdoor bath that was great after a muddy one. Everyone was so welcoming that we felt at home straight away, and nothing seemed like too much trouble. The woman running breakfast was especially warm and attentive, and gave us some great local walking suggestions. Huge thanks to the staff. We’re already planning a summer return.

We stopped here for breakfast before an 8 mile hike, and it was amazing. Lovely staff too. There are loads of picnic tables, so I can imagine it gets busy when the weather’s nice. Join the loyalty club for better value!

Jay made my birthday breakfast feel extra special. He was welcoming, polite and genuinely friendly, and looked after us really well from the moment we arrived. My wife treated me to it, and what a treat. 10/10, I’d absolutely recommend.

The Supper Club tasting menu launch was all about local seasonal produce, and every plate was delicious. We really liked how creative the menu was while the place still felt like a cosy forest pub. The staff took brilliant care of our group and kept the evening flowing smoothly. Whether you live nearby or are just passing through the Forest, it’s a great spot for a good pub meal. We’ll be back.
