Breakfast was decent, and the staff were helpful. The bedroom itself was clean and comfortable, though the bathroom was so tiny it felt like a DIY squeeze-in. It did have a working shower, toilet and sink, so it covered the basics. Finding the place was stressful because even Google seemed unsure whether it was called The Dorset Hotel or Dorset House Hotel. Once we got there, though, we were welcomed cheerfully and shown to our room. It’s only a few minutes’ walk from the main things to do in Ryde, and we enjoyed our stay enough to happily return, armed with a map and a flexible idea of “compact.”

The peaceful setting and bus stop almost on the doorstep were a bonus, and we loved Dave's marmalade so much I bought some to take home. The cat was lovely too. Our room was small and dated, but clean, with comfortable beds. There’s a nice shared lounge and bar, prices are very reasonable, and breakfast was superb. Booking was our mistake because of our mobility issues. Still, the friendly team couldn’t have been more welcoming or helpful. We’ll definitely stay again. Well done, everyone.

Breakfast was a highlight each morning, with fresh, tasty food and lots of choice. The hotel also makes it easy to get to local sights, shops and transport. My room was spotless and well cared for, and the staff made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. Everything seemed clean and thoughtfully run, and nobody made a fuss about helping. I had a fantastic, comfortable stay at the Dorset Hotel and wouldn’t hesitate to come back or recommend it to visitors.

The location made the stay for us, close to the seaside and surrounded by fish and chip shops, pubs and little stores. Parking was free and really handy, and the price felt like good value. The rooms are a bit old, but comfortable, and we both slept well. Breakfast was very good too. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. There’s also a lovely cat that made the place feel more homely. We’d definitely stay again.

The island was easy to explore from here, and we enjoyed our stay. Dave was always cheerful at breakfast, polite and happy to help. The shower ran slowly and stayed red hot, and winter duvets in August were unnecessary.
