The spa here is Guernsey’s best, in my experience. Breakfast is right up there with what you’d get at a five-star hotel in a big city, and the little things are just as good, from the crockery and cutlery to the bed linens. The attentive staff are always smiling and the service is impeccable. It has that typical Hand Picked hotel feel. Can’t recommend it enough.

Our wedding here last month turned out perfectly, and Bronwyn and team made us feel like VIPs throughout. Nothing was too much trouble, and they went far beyond what we expected. I’m so grateful they made the day feel that special, though I can’t really put it into words. I’ll always be thankful to Bronwyn and team, and can’t recommend them enough.

My wife and I stop in about three times a week, usually for coffee and sometimes lunch in the terrace bar. Amy, Ben, Paul and Shaun are always ready to start our coffees as soon as we arrive, and they have a little chat with us. It really makes us feel special. The waiting and reception staff are all attentive and lovely to talk to.

The staff were the best part of a lovely week at the hotel. They did so much to make us and our 10-month-old welcome, from offering to prepare whatever food he wanted to even suggesting a packed lunch. One evening he was very grumpy, and they were understanding and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, with great amenities. His travel cot was nicely set up with its own sheet and an optional blanket, and when we asked for another towel for him, it arrived straight away. The fridge in the room was useful for keeping baby food. All in all, a wonderful stay.

We only use the golf club. The restaurant is brilliant for all three meals, and the driving range is great. Crazy golf is good fun too. There’s always enough parking, though wheelchairs should be dropped off at the door since the gravel won’t be much fun.
