The food was the highlight, and that's high praise from a fussy foodie. My husband booked this birthday meal for me and my daughter, and it went beyond what I expected. The belly pork from the specials was superb, while my daughter really enjoyed her chicken Caesar salad. We started with sourdough and dipping oils, then had scallops, cooked just right, and huge, meaty king prawns with a sauce she wanted to finish to the last drop. The cocktails were top quality, especially the best espresso martini I've had. Service was faultless, the view was spectacular, and it made turning 42 feel like a birthday I'll always remember.

The mussels were a hit with all of us, and adding chorizo was a great idea. We also had a burger and club sandwich for lunch, then prime rib and catch of the day at dinner, all good choices. The setting is spectacular, and the staff were so helpful, especially Mia. We were there for half term and had one lunch and two dinners at Harbour Beach Club. Chablis at £50 a bottle seemed good value. We'll be back next year.
The website looked appealing and the price suggested a good meal, so my partner booked it. We left disappointed and drove to another local restaurant, where the food was fresh, cooked in front of us, and far better for much less money, with service that was miles better. Even after they moved us when we asked, the room was so loud, like a European cafeteria, especially with a few large tables in. The food felt expensive for what you got. My 8oz ribeye seemed more like 5oz at best, thin, with no seasoning or sear, and probably the worst restaurant steak I've had. I asked for medium rare and it came medium to well and above. At £33, it was an expensive ribeye, and the chips definitely seemed frozen and precooked. My partner's whole lobster looked nicely presented, but she struggled to get the meat out. It was rubbery, overcooked and very small. I'm not usually one to leave reviews, but this was a massive letdown.
We tried both breakfast and dinner while staying at the hotel. Breakfast had plenty of hot and cold options, all amazing quality, and dinner offered a good choice of food and drinks. Everything from starter to dessert was delicious, with a lovely atmosphere. The restaurant welcomed us warmly, and the views towards the hotel and South Sands Beach were great. It can get busy, so I'd recommend booking dinner by phone or on the website before you arrive.
The atmosphere was good, and some of the fish dishes were nice, with a solid beer and wine selection. We went as a large group, and all the staff were accommodating and friendly, but the food left us underwhelmed. The prawns came with their heads on, making a mess that could have been avoided. The double smash burgers weren't actually smashed and didn't have much flavour. The mac and cheese disappointed, and the ice cream tasted like turmeric curry.
