The photos may make some of the decor look dated, but don’t let that put you off. Inside, the hotel has original features and spacious, comfortable rooms. Breakfast was excellent, and every staff member was polite and helpful, with nothing too much trouble. There’s an easy, pretty walk into Salisbury past the cathedral. I’d recommend it and hope to return.

We ate lunch in the restaurant, and the food was fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced. Jenny looked after us perfectly, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed last night while in Salisbury for a show. Our room was clean and attractive, with a lovely river view. Thank you.

The first time we stayed, we had a lovely room overlooking the river. On our second visit, we were assigned a small, dark, cold accessible room. The bathroom towel rail didn’t work, so it was too cold for either my husband or me to shower. They offered to move us for the second night, but I declined because changing rooms with my disabled husband would have been too stressful. The staff did all they could to help. After I complained, though, I got a rude, uncaring letter. Never again. Make sure you know which room you’re being given before you book.

The room was huge, as was the bathroom, and the view from the window was amazing. We could see the river and the cathedral. The hotel was really nice for our wedding anniversary, and dinner there was delicious. The only thing that spoiled our night was the people in the next room coming in drunk at midnight and having a very loud argument, waking us up. It wasn’t the hotel’s fault, but I wish people would consider those around them. We’d definitely stay again if we’re in the area.
