The room was one of the cleanest I’ve stayed in, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Staff checked in with us to see if we needed anything. Finding parking right outside the hotel was easy, and a permit was available for £10. Carlton house is pet friendly too, which is a big plus. I’d recommend it to anyone needing a place in Scarborough.

It was my first stay at the Carlton and my first time at South Bay. The hotel is a two-minute walk from the esplanade, with great harbour views. The staff were always checking whether we needed anything and couldn’t have been more helpful. There’s also a good breakfast selection to suit everyone.

A spacious, nicely furnished room with a lovely large bathroom, all for a very reasonable price. The owner or manager was really helpful. A brilliant place to stay, and I’d definitely recommend it.

We had breakfast while staying at Carlton house, and it was lovely, freshly cooked food. I was there with my partner and our little dog. The room was spacious, very clean, and had everything we needed, including a fridge and tea and coffee facilities. It’s about two minutes from South cliff and roughly ten minutes on foot to Scarborough centre. The lovely staff made us feel welcome, and we’ll certainly visit again. Many thanks!
