A charming, family-friendly hotel just off the M26 motorway with a health club and pool. Holiday Inn® Maidstone - Sevenoaks hotel is near Junction 2A on the M26 and close to the M20. With the Eurotunnel only 40 miles away, our hotel is ideally placed if you’re driving to Europe. Borough Green & Wrotham railway station is five minutes by car, and it’s a 45-minute drive to Gatwick Airport (LGW). Discover the moat, the hedge maze and 900 years of history at Leeds Castle, or go on a shopping spree at the open-air Fremlin Walk in Maidstone, both a short drive away. You’re also handy to the greens and fairways of Woodland Manor Golf Course. We have 11 naturally lit event spaces for 10 to 120 guests, including a function room with a private bar. Our events team is happy to take care of catering. At this hotel you can enjoy free Wi-Fi, 24-hour room service and a cosy lounge bar area. Kids stay and eat free at Holiday Inn. The Sissinghurst Suite serves a hearty breakfast. There is an international menu for lunch and dinner available in the Open Lobby. The pool was the highlight of my business stay, and the restaurant food was decent. It is quite expensive for what you get, though, and service can be very slow. There’s no lift, which could be awkward with luggage or limited mobility. The rooms feel dated and some need refurbishment, and a few amenities are missing. Breakfast is only average and could use more choice.

Aura, the waitress in the bar, deserves a special mention. She was so friendly, attentive and professional, and her excellent service made our evening even nicer. We had a lovely family stay at the Holiday Inn in Maidstone. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the children absolutely loved spending time in the pool. We felt well looked after and were very happy with the visit. We’ll definitely come back, and would gladly recommend it to other families.

The bar service was quick and friendly, and Olivia was especially warm, professional and attentive. My coffee arrived promptly with a smile. I popped into the Holiday Inn Maidstone for a coffee today and found it relaxed and welcoming, a nice place to sit for a while. I’d happily stop in again.

The bed was great, and we slept really well. The room was spacious enough, with the usual free TV channels, and the aircon heated it effectively without making too much noise. There’s a lot this hotel could improve with a major refurb. The location is good and the staff are friendly and helpful, but the rooms, especially the bathrooms, are tired. The gym is tiny and claustrophobic. The pool is okay, and the sauna was hot, clean and not too busy. We didn’t try the food, though a £4.40 hot chocolate we ordered was lukewarm and tasteless. There are some nice restaurants and pubs nearby, and both Sevenoaks and Maidstone are about 20 minutes away, with quaint villages a short drive from the hotel too. It works as a budget option, but could be much better. I meant to give it two stars at first and have corrected that to three. Hopefully it’ll be better once the refurb is finished.

I’ll be back in January, so it’s pretty clear where I’ll stay. This was another lovely Holiday Inn visit, with really nice food and an equally pleasant second night. There was a private party on and things were busy, but the restaurant team made sure I was looked after. I arrived back sooner than I expected on my motorcycle. Liz, a familiar face at reception, greeted me by name and was extremely polite, helpful and friendly. My room was clean and spacious, and I headed to the health suite after settling in.
