Breakfast after a fantastic night's sleep was another highlight. There was a great selection, and both the Classic English and Eggs Royale were perfect, as was the apple juice. We'd have happily stayed longer. We were there for the first night of our minimoon and got a warm welcome. We'd been upgraded to a very large, beautiful room at the front of the inn, over the main bar. It was called Purdey and had views to the front and side. The bed was huge and comfortable, the TV and WiFi were great, and there was proper milk with the tea making things, homemade cookies and water. The bathroom was just as large, with a big shower, freestanding bath and lovely Bramley toiletries. Dinner was in the beautiful main bar, with a real log fire. They gave us a complimentary welcome drink and the menu made choosing hard. We shared the trout starter and chocolate mousse, and had perfectly cooked venison and a pork main from the specials board. Everything was delicious, and they were happy to adjust a couple of menu items for us. All the staff were lovely, and the food and service were fantastic.

The only thing I'd change is the lighting in the room. Once the sun went down it got dark in there pretty quickly. Otherwise, we had a lovely stay at the King John and would highly recommend it. The pub and rooms welcome dogs, the staff were fantastic and knew their stuff, and they made good food and drink recommendations. Dinner was delicious: I had the risotto and my partner had the pheasant. There's a good wine list too. We'll definitely come back.

There were 17 of us for Sunday roast after a lovely weekend at king johns house, and the restaurant made room for us beautifully. The food was amazing, and the staff were friendly and efficient. We'll definitely return when we're in the area again.

The food was so fantastic I wanted to hug the chef. We had an amazing New Year's Eve dinner at the village inn, with outstanding food, first class service and a great atmosphere. We've already booked another table for later in the year. If you're nearby, it's worth a visit, and you can take a stroll around the charming little village. 😊

The room, Boss, was lovely and had a bath. I slept really well. We were there for Sunday lunch in the pub, with groups having a good time and a log fire burning. The roast was great, and breakfast, cooked to order, was delicious. Staff were friendly and attentive, and there were luxury toiletries in the room.
