The Grove Arms

We came back to the Grove after a few years away for our family Christmas meal. Both the Christmas and regular menus had plenty of choice at very reasonable prices, and the food was lovely and homemade, which feels rare these days. The service was brilliant, and we're glad it's still dog friendly. Thanks for a brilliant evening, five stars from us!

The pub is on a busy A road, but there's good parking and it's well worth stopping in. The beer garden looks like it could be a lovely summer hideaway, even though our visit was in winter. We came with family for Sunday roast last week and really enjoyed the tasty, well-cooked food at a very reasonable price. The bar staff were welcoming, and Sarah the landlord was especially friendly and gently attentive.

Pedro had a soft carpet to nap on, and we liked the decor and the excellent toilets. Getting here was easy. Before lunch we walked at Win Green, less than a ten-minute drive away, with great views, which helped Pedro settle down. My parents and I all ordered roast lamb, then sticky toffee pudding and custard. The portions were just right, and I loved the cauliflower cheese with the roast. The pudding actually tasted like pudding, unlike many others. The team were friendly and looked after us well. Great value, and we'll definitely return.

A group of eight of us had lunch at this lovely historic country pub, and everyone enjoyed the fresh, delicious food. We were surprised by how reasonably priced it was. Great service from the staff, too. Highly recommend, and we'll all be back!
