The Laslett Hotel

When I broke my foot in London, the staff went above and beyond to help. They also remembered our names and gave us fantastic recommendations for the area. That personal service, along with the amazing location, is what makes this beautiful boutique hotel stand out. I can’t recommend it enough!

The staff are friendly and clearly trying their best, and the location is fantastic. The bathrooms are fine, but the rooms feel tired. Food takes ages to arrive, and the portions are on the small side. The porridge, for example, comes in a bowl about the size of a large coffee cup, and the food is only medium quality. At £250 a night, it doesn’t feel like good value to me.

This was our third time at The Laslett, and we’d happily return. We stayed midweek last week in a double room for a city break at home, and the whole team looked after us so well. The room was comfortable and modern, and having a bath was a real treat. We liked looking out at the white townhouses and quiet Pembridge Gardens. We had a little room service and a drink in the bar before going out for dinner. Notting Hill Gate Station is right there, so a few stops on the central line got us to Soho quickly. We also enjoyed the neighbourhood around Portobello Rd and Notting Hill, with its architecture and restaurants, including Dorian, Alleycats Pizza, and the Pelican pub. After checkout, the hotel kept our bags while we walked to Hyde Park for some spring sun and daffodils. The Laslett is a great boutique stay in a peaceful part of London, with easy access to everything going on.

The room and bathroom were immaculate, and having a proper bathtub feels like a rare treat in London. Breakfast was excellent too. There isn’t a full restaurant, but the bar snacks and small bites were delicious and nicely done. I loved the art, books, and thoughtful design throughout this warm, stylish hotel in a beautiful Victorian terrace. Even the bed throw felt carefully chosen. The atmosphere made it easy to relax and connect, and the team were kind, professional, and attentive. Thanks especially to Maya, Ali, Sophia, and the wonderful service team member working on the evening of January 2nd. They made everything feel effortless and memorable. The location is perfect, it’s spotlessly clean, and it has a welcoming, almost family-like feel. I’ll definitely be back.
