Mayfair Hotel

The value here was far beyond what we expected. Our room was small, though it didn't feel especially small, and the bed was very comfortable with soft linen. The shower had great pressure and temperature. Staff were warm and welcoming, and breakfast was nice. We especially enjoyed the fresh, healthy smoothies and could happily have had more. It was a lovely stay in this hidden gem, and we'll definitely return.

We couldn't book a room because the Mayfair Hotel was full, but we had a look at one of the sea-view rooms and it was beautiful. We did enjoy all our meals at Darbar Restaurant, with excellent food and proper Indian flavours, carefully prepared. The owner welcomed us warmly, and Mr. Om took great care of us with attentive service that made us feel comfortable. We'll plan to stay next time we're in Shanklin. Highly recommend it for the food, hospitality, and sea view.

Darbar, the restaurant downstairs, was a highlight for me. The Indian food was delicious and authentic. I especially recommend the Bombay Sandwich, Butter Chicken, and Chicken Biryani, all full of flavour and beautifully prepared. The sea-facing location was peaceful and quiet, with lovely views. Om and his family made me feel at home from the moment I arrived. My room was clean and comfortable, with an en-suite and the practical essentials, without extra clutter. I'd happily recommend this place to anyone visiting the Isle of Wight for the food, welcoming hospitality, comfortable stay, and location.

Om gave us excellent service, always ready to help and greeting us with a smile. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout. Mayfair Hotel was clean and comfortable, and well placed for exploring the Isle of Wight. We had a lovely stay.
