The Kenbury

We stayed at The Kenbury on our first Isle of Wight trip with our two children. The family room, made up of two linked rooms, was very spacious and worked well for us. There’s an EV charger, and we could charge the car overnight in the car park, which was very convenient. The staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast offered a good mix of cooked and uncooked choices. The one downside was the wait for a cooked breakfast, sometimes around 30-45 minutes. That could be inconvenient for anyone who doesn't want anything else to eat or drink and just has to wait.

We came back for a second stay and the welcome was just as warm as before. Our room was reasonable, the bed comfortable, and breakfast was great, with lots of choice on the menu. Shanklin's main area, where most of the pubs and restaurants are, is the one possible drawback. We walked there in about 20 minutes, but someone less mobile might need to drive and pay for parking.

The accommodation is in a quiet part of Shanklin, with the town centre only a few minutes away, and I slept very well in the comfortable bed. The rooms are excellent, with clean decor and good furniture. Breakfast on each of my three days was as good as you could wish for. Paul and Paolo were helpful and enthusiastic about the place, their business and their guests, and gave me ideas for places to visit on the island. I’ll definitely return. Thanks.

The Kenbury is good value, with clean rooms, friendly service and lovely breakfasts. The car park filled up at times, but it was easy enough to park on the road. It’s not very close to the beach, though it isn’t far away. I’d recommend this B&B to anyone visiting Shanklin or the Isle of Wight.
