Westbury Lodge

A lovely B&B with beautiful rooms and incredible staff. The beach and waterfront, with wonderful restaurants, are just a short walk away. Breakfast is well beyond the usual B&B fare. It’s made to order, with several options from a traditional English breakfast to omelettes and even Eggs Benedict. And it was delicious!

We’ve stayed at a few B&Bs in Shanklin, and this was easily the best. Rosemary and David are lovely hosts. The rooms were clean and lovely, and the shower had great pressure. Breakfast had a lot to live up to after the other reviews, but David didn’t disappoint. Thanks so much for accommodating us. When we come back, this will definitely be our first choice.

The owners were so warm, inviting and helpful, and that’s a big reason I’d stay here again. The place was super clean, the room beautiful, and breakfast really good. The dining area was spotless and well laid out, with a table for each room, so nobody had to squeeze in at breakfast. My only other issue was the toilet. The pressure didn’t seem great, and we had to flush it 7 to 8 times just to get toilet paper down. At one point, someone also walked into our room while we were still in bed. They left as soon as they realized, and it was probably just human error since we hadn’t put out the “please clean room” sign.

This was our second time at Westbury Lodge Hotel in Shanklin, and Rosemary and David gave us another warm welcome. The hotel is fabulous, spotlessly clean, with comfy beds, fresh linen and an amazing breakfast. It’s close to both town and beach, and there’s a lift to get up and down to the beach if you need it. The beach is lovely, and you can take a nice walk to Sandown and stop at Tradewinds Cafe for food and a drink.
