Cavendish Hotel

Our sons and their families gave us Afternoon Tea for Christmas, and it was so good we’ve already added a return visit to our list. My wife is pre diabetic and needed everything low in sugar. The chef came up trumps, making plenty she could eat. The atmosphere and service were top notch, and the whole experience was magnificent. A lovely place to simply enjoy, and many thanks to everyone.

We ended up here after a problem with our original booking at The Hide, and the hotel gave us a significant upgrade at no extra cost, which we really appreciated. Our room was cosy, with lovely countryside views, and the staff were all brilliant, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was first class, too, with nothing too much trouble. It’s an ideal base for visiting Chatsworth house, which we also thought was excellent. Highly recommended.

Stephen was especially lovely and helpful, and the whole staff were welcoming and attentive, with local recommendations ready when we needed them. The setting near Chatsworth House and Gardens is peaceful, and the hotel has a real sense of local history. It’s cozy, quiet, and full of character. Our room was well kept and had thoughtful touches that made it feel warm and personal. The Chatsworth shortbread cookies are delicious. After walking, hiking, or visiting the nearby historic sites and charming towns, this is a delightful place to unwind.

The Cavendish made our stay really enjoyable and memorable. The food was exceptional, and the service was excellent. Every member of staff made us feel welcome, and nothing seemed too much trouble. They sometimes went beyond what you’d normally expect. It’s a beautiful, peaceful location, just right for a relaxing break and some time in nature while enjoying what the Cavendish has to offer. I’d happily recommend it.
