Iram at the front desk deserves a special mention. She’s welcoming, always smiling, and does a lot to help guests feel comfortable and appreciated. The rest of the reception team were just as friendly, professional, and helpful. The service really made my stay at Hampton by Hilton Sheffield, and reflects well on the hotel. I’d happily recommend it.

I’m a Diamond member and spend 3-4 days a week in hotels, so I’ve seen a lot of service. This was among the best. I messaged reception from the plane to explain I’d arrive early and hadn’t slept. They rearranged things so I could get into my room by noon. The rooms were impeccably clean, and everyone went well out of their way to look after me. Dinner was very good too. When a special event was on, the women behind the counter put together a list of great restaurants for me. Best service I’ve had in a hotel.

The room itself was nice, but there was food from previous guests under the bed, so it clearly hadn’t been cleaned there. I was told the £5.50 charge was for fresh orange with a splash of lemonade. For context, we’d ordered a Tia Maria and orange, plus a whisky and lemonade. Both drinks were doubles and about £12 each, and neither was a long drink, just a small splash of mixer. I think the £5.50 was charged for each mixer, which is wildly expensive.

The room and breakfast were good, and the hotel is near town, though the surrounding area felt rough. We stayed two nights in August and raised noise complaints overnight; staff dealt with them, so no problem on that front. The parking mess is why we won’t return. We paid for 48 hours in the hotel car park, have proof, and gave staff our registration when we arrived. Since August we’ve had two separate fines because the hotel didn’t add the car to the “white list.” We challenged the first one and were told it was staff’s mistake, so it was dropped. We never even got a notice from ParkMaven about the second, which went straight to bailiffs. It ended up costing us £170. An absolute joke.
