Baylis House Hotel

The food had plenty of choice for vegetarians, meat eaters and kids, and all our guests found something they liked. There was room for everyone to move around, the décor and theme looked spot on, and the music created a great atmosphere. Guests also really enjoyed the tea station outside. We held our Lohri party at Baylis House on Saturday, and the whole evening went brilliantly. From the first conversation about options to the night itself, the team made everything smooth, professional and stress-free. Paul and Hamzah deserve a special mention. They were attentive, went above and beyond, and made sure our guests were looked after. Having a thooni mattered a lot to us for Lohri, and the staff helped set it up and tended the fire safely all evening. It made the celebration feel special and authentic. We also liked being able to choose dry hire and bring our own alcohol, with no unexpected or inflated bar charges at the end. It’s a lovely setting with high standards and great service at a sensible price. I’d recommend Baylis House for a memorable function.

I wouldn’t recommend this wedding venue. I was ticketed after using its parking system, which didn’t send me an email confirmation. When I called, staff first told me to contact building management, then said they didn’t have a number for them. They said they host other functions without this problem, but it seems silly to expect the system to keep up with registering so many guests. I emailed events@bailyes house and haven’t had a reply either. I hope this helps anyone deciding whether to validate their car.

The room was more than I paid for, with a double bed instead of a single, and I really enjoyed the big bed. The bathroom was spacious and nice. The carpet could use a deep clean, though, and the socket next to the bed wouldn’t charge my phone, which is essential when travelling. Staff were excellent and helpful, and there were plenty of parking spaces. I arrived after 23:00, when the restaurant was closed, so I hope I can try the food next time. Good location, good price, I’ll be back. 👍

Our late December event went really well, and all our guests enjoyed the excellent food. The room was very nice and well heated. Mr Paul and the management team were helpful and accommodating throughout.
