Dinner was the real surprise here. The pub had a brilliant atmosphere, with locals enjoying themselves, and the food was the best pub meal I’ve had in years. I only stopped for one night while passing through for work, but the friendly staff made arrival easy and answered all my questions. The room was clean and cosy, and the weather was lovely too. I’d come back if I’m in the area again.

We had a cosy little spot around the corner from the bar, and there was a good range of wine and beer. The service was impeccable. I ordered duck for my main and it was cooked beautifully. Such a lovely pub, I’d definitely recommend it.

Parking was good, and breakfast the next morning was lovely. I stayed for one night, and the room was clean with everything I needed. The staff were welcoming, kind, helpful and knowledgeable. Thanks to them for being so great. I’d definitely recommend the place and would come back.

A fair price, plus good ale and cider. This is a peaceful campsite for motorhomes and caravans, with a bus stop right outside and a good spot for walks and cycle rides. The facilities are adequate, though the toilet block had a water pressure problem. Recommended.

The weather was a bit dodgy, but the atmosphere was still great, with what looked like a beer and music festival getting started when we arrived. We’d detoured here yesterday to get around motorway delays and found a great country pub. We stopped for food and had gyros and pizzas, served fresh and quickly, and they were really good. They have a longer menu with more choice, but we caught them between lunch and evening meals. The food we had was very good.
