10/10
The hotel is close to Barnsley town centre, shops, restaurants and transport, and works well for either a work trip or some time away. It’s comfortable and quiet, with clean rooms and the usual good Premier Inn beds, so we slept well. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was good value. Some parts look a little dated, though they’re kept in good condition. A dependable option for a short stay.

James was warm and friendly, and he and the rest of the staff made sure we had what we needed. The room was comfortable, the restaurant had a decent choice at reasonable prices, and the whole stay felt relaxing. No complaints at all.

The staff really made us feel at home. They were helpful, had a laugh and a chat with us, and couldn’t have done more. Our room was clean and spacious, we all slept well, and both dinner and breakfast were hot and delicious. The £45 room price, with dinner and breakfast for £26.99, was well worth it. It’s right in the centre of Barnsley, and we were greeted with smiles when we arrived. We’ll definitely be back for a third visit. See you soon, and hats off to the staff.

It’s a basic but practical hotel, with convenient, inexpensive parking and a good location. James was the standout for us: friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and always happy to assist. He’s a credit to the hotel and the company. We’d stay again.

I booked Barnsley Central for May. I’ve stayed at Premier Inns before and usually find they deliver, but getting a simple question answered has been impossible. I tried the FAQ, the contact page and even phoning, with no luck. I know there’s no on-site car park. I just need to know whether there’s parking for blue badge holders and if I can reserve a space. I can’t find a way to ask and get that information, and I’m starting to wonder whether I should cancel and book somewhere else.
