The room and the way we were treated made this a frightening stay. The receptionist began recording me without asking, so, feeling unsafe with my female friend there, I started recording too to protect us. Earlier, he had shown us a room with a disgusting smell. When I said we’d leave for another hotel, he offered a different room at the same price, £35. That didn’t fix the state of the place. The walls were dirty and torn, the room smelled bad, and neither the TV nor its remote worked. The Wi-Fi was useless. For what you’re charged, you’d expect a five-star hotel, but this felt like a scrapyard. My friend went downstairs for food and the receptionist added another £15 without a clear reason or proper explanation. He was rude and unprofessional from the beginning, and didn’t seem to know how to do his job. This is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I’m furious and completely dissatisfied, and I’ll never return. It felt disgusting and unsafe. I honestly think UK health and safety authorities should inspect it because it doesn’t seem fit for guests. Terrible management and service. Avoid it.

Some staff were genuinely kind and helpful, which I appreciated, but the arrival left me regretting the booking. I’d emailed ahead and called to confirm I could leave our luggage before check-in. Without a local number, I had trouble getting through, and the staff member who answered sounded half-asleep and kept telling me to come back at 2 pm. We ended up waiting outside in the cold, wind and dark. People staring at us made us feel uneasy and unsafe. Thankfully nothing happened, but after we’d explained our plans in advance, guests shouldn’t be left in that situation. The first impression was very poor, and I’d tell others to think carefully before booking.

The room was quite nice, so for one night it wasn't too bad, but I won't stay again. The bed was uncomfortable, and there were stains on the wall and bed that looked questionable. Wallpaper was peeling, and the carpet felt like a Brillo pad. There was hair in the shower drain, and honestly most of the room and bathroom didn't look cleaned. The mirror looked like it came from Temu, and the hairdryer sounded like a saw. You get what you pay for.

There was drilling until about 7pm, so I couldn't rest, then lots of banging from below in the middle of the night. At 7pm, a guy also interrupted my evening while I was resting, wanting to come into my room for something. The internet barely worked, so I couldn't check important emails. One of the guys spoke English so poorly I couldn't understand a word. Staff don't understand autism, so if you have autism, don't go here. Don't waste your money. You'd be better off paying for Travelodge, which is much better.

The room was tiny and nothing like the picture. They said they’d moved me to another room without telling me first. The AC didn’t work; the hotel said they’d replace the extension cord so it would, but nobody came back. Wi-Fi was poor, so I used my own data, and the cleaner was working so loudly I couldn’t relax. I couldn’t wait to check out. The front desk was unprofessional and kept calling me “bro.” It was an inexpensive hotel, I guess you get what you pay for, but I wish I’d paid more for somewhere better. I’ll definitely spend more next time.
