Doubletree by Hilton Southampton

Celia at reception was brilliant when I got locked out after breakfast. She came upstairs with another keycard, but the reader’s battery had died, so that didn’t work. She went back down for a set of keys and brought those up too, all while handling other guests at the desk. She really went out of her way to help. I was working in the area and stayed one midweek night. The check-in staff were friendly and efficient, and my room on the fourth floor was clean and comfortable. In the morning the shower was only warm, though it had been very hot the previous evening. The fish and chips were nice, and restaurant staff were friendly. Breakfast was okay, but a few items had run out by 8 and took a while to refill. £5 for a pint of Pepsi Max felt a bit steep.

Celia is always smiling and ready to help, and my mother really appreciated her warm welcome. All the staff were lovely and made sure we were comfortable and had enough to drink. The rooms are nice and clean. We had a lovely stay at the Double Tree and will be back for a short transit stay soon.

We had a great stay all round for a family wedding at the hotel from 16th-18th Jan 2026. The reception staff were very helpful, and the lady who cleaned the rooms on Saturday morning helped my elderly mum find another duvet so she’d be warm. Thank you! We had a medical urgency on Friday evening, and the lady behind the bar, who was about to have two days off after the wedding, responded wonderfully along with David. Thank you both. The staff were fabulous.

The room was spot on, with working AC, a clean bathroom, fresh towels, and complimentary cookies and water. Check-out at 12pm was generous, and if you’re clumsy like me, the Hilton Honors app’s digital check-in and key are handy. We had a couple of amazing nights here and would highly recommend it. Celia looked after us on the second night and was incredibly helpful and a joy to deal with.
