There’s plenty of parking, friendly staff and local walks very close by. A bakery/cafe and pizza restaurant/takeaway are also within a minute’s walk if you don’t fancy the usual restaurant. The location is very convenient, with easy access to other places in the area. I rarely have a bad night at a Premier Inn, and you generally know what you’re getting. My only minor complaint is the lack of plug or USB sockets beside the bed. I’ve come across this issue at other Prem Inn locations too.

Breakfast was good, and the bean-to-coffee machine makes a good brew. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. They are quite high, though. I’m 6’4 and even I was only on tiptoes when sitting on the edge, so it could be tricky if you have short legs. We’ve just got home after a couple of nights and would highly recommend the place.

We had a few nights here at the end of September, and I’d happily stay again. For an older Premier Inn, it’s been kept in very good shape and was really clean, including the communal areas. The water was hot, and there are great walks just behind the hotel overlooking the Teverbryn Tip. The location is ideal for the Eden Project, St. Austell and Charlestown, and the staff are very friendly. One place to try nearby is The Rebeillion for the 1/2 of mussels at £22! A couple of small points: the place could use a fresh coat of paint. There’s no air conditioning, and while fans are provided, I’d bring your own if you run hot at night. These are minor things, and I’d still stay again without hesitation. Well done, team!

We stayed six nights recently, and the poor housekeeping and room maintenance made the visit extremely disappointing. Towels weren’t replaced when we asked, beds weren’t made and floors weren’t vacuumed. The bathroom extractor was full of hair, fluff and dirt, and the bath’s non-slip area was grimy. On one occasion, we’d agreed to have the room cleaned and housekeeping had clearly been in, but all they did was empty the bins, take away the tea and coffee setup and dirty cups, and remove the used towels. None of those things were replaced or replenished. The hotel fell short of the standard I’ve had here before and at other Premier Inns.

The on-site restaurant served reasonably priced meals, and the staff were friendly. The bed was comfortable, but our first room, 27, was very noisy because the building’s wooden floorboards make a lot of noise. Luckily we could move to room 203. It was a bit of a walk, but worth it. The only other issue was being told we had to leave at 10.15 on Saturday night!
