The Gannet Inn

Jay gave us such a friendly welcome at reception that we felt relaxed for the evening before heading to the spa. She was full of useful information about where to go and what we needed. Our family room at The Gannit Inn was clean and spacious, with a bath tub, and the spa was gorgeous. The food was even better, and dinner service was prompt and attentive. Thanks, Jay, we’ll be back in the summer.

The staff were incredible, friendly and accommodating, and the service was amazing. The food was delicious and everyone was very helpful. Our room was spacious and clean, and the hotel is close to the beach. You could see the sea from some rooms on a clear day. There were a couple of issues: the shower leaked, the taps ran very slowly, and the room got extremely hot overnight, even though it was October. Still, we had a good stay.

We had the Gannet all to ourselves for our wedding, and everyone had the best time. The food was incredible, and our guests all commented on how lovely the hotel and rooms were. From start to finish the staff were so helpful and went above and beyond. Huge thanks to Helen, who made sure our big day ran smoothly. We’d definitely recommend it for an intimate, smaller wedding in Cornwall, and can’t wait to come back.

We came back for a second stay, this time for a couple of days on our honeymoon, and won’t be giving it a third chance. They said they’d upgrade us because it was our honeymoon, but the room was tiny, too hot and the main light flickered like a disco. I told reception, but nothing was done. The bed was comfortable, at least. The low ceiling made it difficult for a man to use the toilet standing up. We had to ask the cleaning team to redo the bathroom because the attention to detail was so poor, and I didn’t want to stand on the floor. They tried, but the cleaning still wasn’t very good. Breakfast was very good, though staff need training on making coffee. Evening meals were okay. The spa was excellent, so make sure to use all the facilities if you go, or maybe try staying at that hotel instead.
