Dinner was enjoyable, and the price was really reasonable. Our room was roomy and comfortable, with everything we needed. The bathroom had both a bath and a shower, plus reliably hot water and great toiletries. We couldn't find anything to fault.

We went in for a meal and were welcomed by really friendly, pleasant staff. Everything tasted good and was cooked well, though the mains felt small beside the often larger desserts. The disabled toilet was clean and spacious, with a sliding door, which worked well. It also serves as a baby-changing room, but the table won't stay up unless it's clipped in. I can't manage that because I can't stand in place and use both hands when only one of mine works. We were pleasantly surprised by live music from 8pm. We'll definitely return. 7.5/10. I have MS, walk very slowly, and use a foldable Di Blasi R30 mobility scooter. It's very compact, about the width of an electric wheelchair and perhaps fractionally longer. This is my review from a disabled person's point of view.

Frank, our Cavapoo, was made very welcome too. His greeting bowl in the room came with treats, a ball and a chew, and he had a great time. We stayed three nights, and the whole visit felt relaxed and friendly. The Sunday lunch was wonderful, served by warm, friendly staff. Our room was beautiful and very clean, though a little dark because the window is so close to the church next door. That didn't spoil it, and the bathroom was bright and spotless. The bed was so comfortable that I had the best night's sleep in a long time. Breakfast the next morning had the usual continental options as well as a menu to choose from. The waitress serving us was so cheerful and made the day feel like it was off to a lovely start. We got a lovely welcome at reception when we arrived on Sunday 9th Nov. A memorable stay, and we'd recommend the hotel to anyone visiting the area. Thank you, Garry and Flora Rider, and Frank.

We took our dog Maisy along for Sunday lunch, which was great. The food was excellent and reasonably priced, and the hotel is nicely laid out. Staff were polite and friendly, and Maisy was a brilliant waitress.

Our server, Liam, did his best and was very apologetic, but the kitchen let the whole meal down. The restaurant was nearly empty, with just two tables occupied during our pre-Christmas lunch for six, and I heard an older couple complain that they'd waited 35 minutes for three scoops of ice cream. Our starters took around an hour. Mine was missing parts, and both the quality and presentation were disappointing. The mains took almost another hour, and two arrived wrong. A burger came covered in melted cheese despite our request for none, and the ragu was cold. The £3.50 garlic bread was barely there, thin slices with big holes. With prices relatively high compared with other places we eat, the food was extremely poor. I was told there were two kitchen staff working, and with only ten people dining, the long waits and mistakes seemed especially disappointing. The delays also meant two people in our group ate their starters and mains at different times. Even with a discount, the bill was a significant amount for poor food and missing items. I'm very upset that a family member paid it at all. The meal really put a damper on a special lunch with family, something we don't often get to do, and it feels unfair that the waiting staff have to bear the brunt of poor kitchen performance. I found it unacceptable.
