Tregenna Castle

West Cornwall is a great location, with stunning views and helpful, friendly staff. There are good-quality restaurants with plenty of choice at good prices for guests and locals, a great combination. The weather has caused some garden damage, though that's being worked on. Getting into town is easy, but the walk back is harder and builds up a good appetite. My only small complaint is the number of laminated safety notices about slippery surfaces and hot things. I understand why they're there, but they don't look professional, even if they're practical.

We had a great family stay last weekend in The Gables self-catering apartment. The views were stunning, the facilities on site were great, and the staff were amazing, meeting every need without question. The only things I'd mention are specific to The Gables, not the other room options: the bedroom ceilings slope inward, so you have to be careful getting out of bed. We also would have liked a washing machine for cleaning the kids' clothes after trips to local beaches, though I know that's a bit petty. We'll definitely return.

The Valentine's dinner was fabulous, with tasty food and amazing service as always. They adapted the menu for my allergy needs, and the night's entertainment was brilliant, with a great singer. Harriet and her team did a really lovely job. I live locally, so can't comment on the rooms as I've never needed to stay in them.

We went to an evening event and didn't use a room. The venue has plush surroundings, and it's a very pleasant place for an event. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially Erin from the bar team. As it was night, I couldn't see the surrounding area. The outside lighting could be better, particularly in the car park, and the car park and exit signs could be clearer.
