The rooms were very good, and the location near shops and restaurants was great. Breakfast was okay, though there was no black pudding and the toasters didn’t work, so the chef had to use the grill. We’d booked months ahead but got a lower-ground-floor room a long way from reception, with stairs up and down. Both lifts were out of order. That’s no good for anyone with mobility issues, and the walk to breakfast and back out of the hotel was lengthy. Apart from that, the stay wasn’t bad.

Emma and the crew were amazing every evening, attentive, kept things super clean, and served great food. The menu was mediocre for the first two nights, but then a new one arrived and what a difference! The place may not be as modern as some Premier Inns, but I’d book again when I’m in the area for the service, attention and location. It was a last-minute booking and a pleasant surprise. Thank you 😊

Jack on reception gave us such a warm welcome and was great with our four-year-old. The room felt newly refurbished, was spotless right down to the bathroom, and had a really comfy bed. We didn’t hear a peep all night, and slept so well. A perfect central spot, close to the shops and theatre. We only stayed one night, but it was a great stay.

Camelia and Maria made our stay lovely. From the moment we arrived, they were friendly, welcoming and helpful, and nothing seemed like too much trouble. They were clearly rushed off their feet, cooking dinners, clearing and cleaning tables, running reception, and still finding time to bring guests extra towels and whatever else they needed. They did it all with a smile. A special mention for Camelia’s battered cod, the best I’ve ever tasted, cooked to perfection. Premier Inn is lucky to have such hardworking, dedicated staff. Thank you both so much! X

The location is excellent, and the reception staff gave us a lovely, warm welcome. The rooms look fresh and refurbished, but ours was cold even after we tried turning the air up to 24c. The bathroom was just as cold, maybe colder, and had no heating. The outdoor corridors felt cold too. That’s not what I’ve experienced in a hotel before. The entrance is odd, as others have said. You wonder if it can really be the entrance, but it is. Once you climb two flights of stairs, it becomes a hotel. Across the road, The Red Lion was fabulous, though not cheap. I’d recommend booking a table for a treat.
