Nelio knew his way around both wine and fine dining, and the suggestions he made were just right. The food was full of flavour and looked lovely, all in a relaxed but elegant setting. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived, settling into the cosy bar, and had a memorable evening at The Candlestick in Stamford. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend it.

The landlord was so kind, staying up for my late arrival and helping with my bags. I spent the week in two rooms, moving to a twin when my mum came to join me. Both rooms were spotless, with comfy beds and roomy en-suite bathrooms. Parking was straightforward too, with the hotel's own car park and free street parking nearby. Highly recommend.

We were rescued at short notice by this quaint little hotel right in the heart of Stamford. Owner Nelio(I think his name is) welcomed us so warmly and did everything we could have asked for. He found us a room and cooked dinner soon after we arrived. It has an older style, but plenty of charm and all the amenities we needed that evening. Thanks so much from some very happy guests!

The food is gorgeous, and this is a place we keep coming back to. The people are genuinely lovely, friendly and welcoming, and the service is always great. I asked my wife to marry me here 11 years ago, so it means a lot to us. Highly recommended.
