Days Inn Stafford

The room was so cold we stayed awake in our winter coats. The thermostat was fixed at 19 degrees, just above the statutory limit, and there was no way to turn it up. We left the towel rail on, hoping that might warm the room, but it didn't. We checked in on 17th Feb and left on 18th Feb 2026. Next door, dogs kept fighting and bothering us. The hotel was extremely pet-friendly, but that made the noise hard to escape. The service area was tiny, and its fuel was about 20% more expensive than at an ordinary nearby petrol station. It was a hellish stay. Anyone travelling southbound on the M6 should put this hotel and service station on their blacklist. The worst hotel we've ever stayed in.

The price and location were good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms are getting scruffy, though, and really need refurbishing.

The room was warm and clean, and I slept like a log after a shower and a meal. I also used the laundrette, and the place was peaceful. My dog settled in well. I was stranded by awful traffic and needed an emergency overnight stay. The lovely, caring woman at reception made sure my arthritic dog didn't have to climb the stairs. Many thanks for looking after a traveller stuck in traffic. ❤✨️

Handy location, clean room, and being able to bring the dogs for £15 was a plus. The staff were all very friendly too. Our room did have an overwhelming damp smell, and the rooms in general are looking very tired. It does the job, and I'd recommend it for a stopover.
