Premier Inn Rochester

The views were excellent, and the staff made our stay amazing. Sam, Emma and Ashley are what make this hotel so great. Thank you so, so much for everything. Emma even helped make my bed and brought me extra pillows. AMAZING!!!

Breakfast was very nice, and the beds were quite comfortable. The room itself smelled bad, though, and ventilation was poor because the windows were locked shut. Service was also quite poor. I waited over 10 minutes for someone to finally come to reception after I buzzed four or five times to ask for towels. Apparently, room service had forgotten to leave them.

The shower in my room didn’t work. Hot water came from the bath taps, but because the diverter was faulty, only cold water came out of the shower head. I know things break in a budget hotel, so I went to reception to explain I couldn’t shower and ask for another room. The immediate answer was no, because hot water was available in the room. After I said that wasn’t good enough, the staff member disappeared and came back to say there were no rooms, and that the hot water meant this was basically good enough. What bothered me wasn’t really the shower. It was the lack of an apology or even an offer of token compensation. They said nobody had reported the fault before, which I find hard to believe. Room 206, in case this helps someone else. I checked out exasperated. The woman on the desk when I arrived late the night before was lovely, so of the staff I dealt with, it was only about half who were bad. 😅

The staff were friendly and accommodating throughout our three-night stay in early February. Nothing was too much trouble, and the hotel was ideally situated. We ate in the hotel restaurant one night, and the meal was very good and reasonably priced. The only thing I could fault was the very discoloured silicone seal on the shower screen. My wife and I would stay here again. Many thanks.
