We only had a short stop, arriving late and leaving early for the ferry, but I’d happily stay longer next time. Even outside normal hours, reception was friendly and never made us feel like a bother. The hotel is beautiful, and our room was very spacious and well furnished. The amenities looked fab, and the food sounded great, though we didn’t get a chance to try it. The flooring could use replacing, and we could faintly hear other guests, but not enough to keep us awake. Those are tiny gripes. We really liked the place and the staff, and hope to return when we can see it in daylight.

Another New Year at the NWC, and it keeps impressing us. Ian sorted out the mix-up with our double room instead of a twin on the first day. All three nights were amazing, with great entertainment, fabulous food and lovely company. You just cannae beat it. Thanks to everyone at NWC, especially Ann in the dining room, Helen, and of course Ian. See you all next year. ❤️

I’ve stayed here many times, and the hotel itself is fine. My newly renovated room was a big improvement. The serious issue is how staff handle allergies. I read a review from five months ago where a guest with coeliac disease ordered beef from the gluten free menu and was given a non gluten free Yorkshire pudding. The exact same thing happened to me this week. Sorry guys, you really need to improve on this. Allergies are becoming more common, whatever people think about why. Being glutened isn’t life threatening, but imagine making that sort of mistake with a more serious allergy, like nuts.

I had a lovely light lunch here, and it was well priced. The hotel is very tasteful, with nice private function rooms. There’s also an indoor curling rink with a full-size viewing window from the bar. I’m told it has a swimming pool and games room as well. What a find. I can highly recommend the venue.

A great choice if you’re taking the ferry. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and very comfortable. I enjoyed the cooked breakfast, and the buffet items were nice too. Highly recommended.
