We’d already enjoyed staying here before, so the Winter Warmer offer gave my partner and me a chance to spend longer at this peaceful hotel. It was a real pleasure from start to finish, and we’d gladly have stayed longer. The grounds feel tucked away from the town, though it’s an easy walk in and close to Ann Hathaways cottage. A little stream runs behind the hotel, and waking up to all the birds around it felt magical. There’s also a small bar open to the public, a relaxing spot to sit for a while. Inside, everything was spotless. The rooms and hotel feel luxurious while still being comfortable. The staff were friendly and polite, and did a lot to make our stay go well without hovering. We had breakfast and dinner included both days, and every dish tasted freshly made to order. Compliments to the chef, they really know how to get the flavours right. I’ve also reviewed the hotel on Trip Advisor, but wanted to make sure it got the praise it deserves.

The rooms were lovely, refurbished to a good standard, and the staff were very nice, especially the waitresses. That made the rest of the hotel feel like a missed opportunity. We stayed recently, in a quiet November period with only three other couples, but the place had little of the charm or warmth I’d expect from an old roadside inn in Stratford Upon Avon. The reception looks a bit cheap and could be more welcoming. The bar and other places to sit felt sterile, and the dining areas could be made cosier with better furnishings. It wouldn’t take much to give the hotel more personality. The dinner was OK, but breakfast needs small improvements that matter, like local sausages instead of half-cooked Richmonds and tinned mushrooms. The bar they’ve put on the grounds seemed aimed more at local tradesmen and workers heading home than hotel guests. I understand it brings in income, but the badly assembled sports-bar feel doesn’t add much to a guest’s stay. If I’m eating at the hotel, I’d like a lobby or bar that feels pleasant to have a drink in. With more focus on the guest experience, this place could be much better.

We were only a 5-10 minute walk from Shakespeares' houses, which made the location great. Minty and the team made my husband, our children and me feel at home, and the food was absolutely delicious. We had a wonderful stay and can’t wait to visit again. I’d definitely recommend this charming place for a warm, memorable break.

The hospitality and food were amazing, and the room was spotless. The location’s perfect too. I couldn’t find anything to fault and will definitely come back.

We were in town for a cycling event, and the lady at reception made a huge difference for me and my two friends. She arranged an early breakfast and kept a room available after the event so we could shower and change before our long drive home. We all thought that was brilliant service, and we’re already looking forward to next year’s event. Thank you for being so kind and helpful. The restaurant had a great atmosphere and the food was really good. The hotel was clean and well maintained, the rooms were great, and the bed was very comfortable. The shower was fantastic too.
