The team at Ettington Park Hotel make a wedding day feel easy and relaxed. They’re friendly, calm and organised, so the schedule keeps moving without the couple or guests feeling rushed. As a photographer, that leaves room for real laughs and natural moments. The food is another highlight, beautifully presented and restaurant quality, with attentive service at both the wedding breakfast and evening meal. Guests remember it long after the celebration. There’s so much variety for photographs, whatever the weather or season: grand windows, sweeping staircases, immaculate gardens, indoor rooms and outdoor spots for drinks, portraits and sunset pictures. The Gothic mansion and countryside views around Stratford-upon-Avon feel almost like a period drama set. It suits both smaller weddings and bigger celebrations, and I’d happily photograph here again. Everyone who stayed at the hotel loved it, and our guests still say ours was the best wedding. We had such a good day, and we’re already looking forward to returning for our first anniversary. From the viewing and planning right through to our autumn 2025 wedding, the whole experience was incredible. The staff are polite, knowledgeable and focused on service. Sam, Olivia, Ricardo, Ellie, Rory, Ollie, Tracey and Lewis all went far beyond their roles to make the ceremony and reception unforgettable. There were so many wonderful people involved. The photo isn’t from the wedding itself, it’s from one of our viewings and tasting sessions.

Chloe was a fantastic wedding coordinator. She kept in touch for months, answered every question and never made anything feel like too much trouble. We fell for Ettington Park as soon as we saw it, and choosing it was our best decision. On the day, the staff were friendly and helpful, decorating indoors and outside just as I wanted. Sam and Lilly kept everything running smoothly. The wedding breakfast was lovely, and the chefs accommodated our preferences. One of the bartenders even decorated the glasses for our reception drinks, such a sweet detail. Our guests loved the venue and the staff. Thank you to everyone at EPH for making it the best day ever. We can’t wait to come back for our anniversary! X

The suite was huge, comfortable and well worth what I’d expect for the price. The Christmas tree was a nice touch, though we couldn’t use the bath because it had a visible scummy ring and needed a proper clean. Dinner was a much better experience: the food was nicely cooked and enjoyable, and our server was attentive, pleasant and professional. The surroundings are genuinely impressive, with beautiful grounds, but the arrival and service didn’t match them. Nobody greeted us at the front door, so we carried in our own luggage. The receptionist seemed flustered and not especially welcoming. I’d booked by phone and included champagne afternoon tea, but when we mentioned it she said she’d have to see if they were ready. Her colleague then confirmed they were expecting us, which made the start feel awkward and disorganised. The restaurant atmosphere was interrupted by noisy children, including some crawling under their table. I know they were with their families, but that didn’t feel right for a high-end dining room. One guest also wore spa flip-flops that seemed intended for in-room use, and I think staff should have addressed it. There were unsupervised, noisy children in other public areas too, which took away from the calm you’d expect at this level. The hotel and grounds are undeniably lovely, but service and attention to detail were inconsistent for the prices charged.
