The Gantry London Curio Collection By Hilton

The train station was only about two minutes away, which made getting around simple. I’d usually book Premier Inn to save money and still have a decent stay, but this time I wanted a hotel with an on-site gym, so I tried The Gantry Hotel instead. I’m glad I did. It cost just twenty pounds more than I’d usually pay, and the quality felt well worth the difference. I loved my top-floor room. The view was impressive, the décor was stylish, and the lighting was lovely. The bed was very comfortable, and the mini fridge, robe and slippers were welcome extras. The shower was huge, and since cleanliness mattered to me, I checked under the bed. It was spotless. Staff were attentive, professional and welcoming, and I’d happily stay again.

Breakfast was the one thing that kept this from being a five-star stay for me. There were no veggie sausages or mushrooms, which felt like a gap compared with what I usually find at Hilton and Doubletree by Hilton. I’d expect the same full veggie selection at a trendier Hilton property like Curio. My eggs and beans were missing their mushroom and veggie-sausage friends. Please add them! Otherwise, I had a lovely stay at The Gantry. The place feels modern inside and out, with cool décor, thoughtful details and a great vibe. The service was spot on, the gym was great, and I liked having several restaurant options. Westfield is right nearby, and Stratford International is just seconds away, with lots of transport options. It felt busy but safe, and I’ll definitely come back.

The complimentary breakfast they arranged was delicious, with a full hot and cold selection, an omelette station and good coffee. I’d pick the machine over the filtered coffee. Sadek gave excellent service and seemed to anticipate what we needed before we asked. We booked a room at the last minute and they handled that brilliantly. The problem was the sofa bed, which still hadn’t been made up when we got back from our show at 10pm. Housekeeping had left, and nobody at reception knew how to set it up or could get the right bedding. We ended up making the bed ourselves and sleeping on a blanket, which was disappointing at £400 a night. Even so, it was a great weekend overall, and I’d stay again. These things can happen.

Martina made the weekend especially welcoming. She helped us as diamond members with complimentary room upgrades, and checked in during our stay to see that we had everything we needed. Her friendly, professional support was a real positive, and I hope it gets recognised. Our room was spacious and very comfortable, with an amazing view. Breakfast was fantastic, especially the omelette and egg station. The location is ideal, right by the station, near London stadium and handy for shopping around Stratford. We had a wonderful weekend at the Gantry London and can’t wait to visit again. Thank you, Martina!
